UNITED WAY'S DAY OF CARING WAS YESTERDAY

United Way’s Day of Caring was yesterday

Yesterday the United Way of Mahaska County’s annual Day of Giving.  Over 200 volunteers participated in the event.  United Way Executive Director Amy Meyer told the No Coast Network about the projects the volunteers were working on.

“Those projects range from helping out a non-profit.  So a non-profit that maybe needs a room painted, so things like Imagine the Possibilities has a lot of group homes, They’re helping us with our mailing that we’re doing for our campaign soon…and then, a lot of individual homes . Often times it’s elderly or disabled people who need just a little bit of help to keep their house up, so we’ll send a team.”

And a reminder that the United Way of Mahaska County will kick off its annual fund-raising campaign today, Thursday, Sept. 13th at 5:30 at the Alley in downtown Oskaloosa.
