OSKALOOSA CROSS COUNTRY PERFORMING WELL THIS SEASON

Oskaloosa cross country performing well this season

Oskaloosa High’s cross country teams put on a good performance in front of a home crowd Tuesday.  The Indians had their only home meet of the season at Edmundson Park.  While the Indians boys finished seventh in the team competition behind champions Clear Creek-Amana, Osky’s Carter Huyser was the overall winner in a time of 17 minutes, 18.2 seconds.

Grinnell was third in the boys race with Albia eighth, Ottumwa tenth, Newton 12th, Pella Christian 13th Knoxville 14th and EFB in 17th place. Albia’s Landon Noe finished eighth overall.

In the girls’ varsity race, Oskaloosa was seventh, with Ballard taking the team title.  Lauren Coon was Osky’s first across the finish line in 20th place.  Also in the team competition, Grinnell was second, Ottumwa fifth, Newton eighth, Knoxville 11th, Albia 13th and EBF in 16th place.  Ottumwa’s Carollin Mellin finished seventh overall.

Oskaloosa’s next cross country meet is next Tuesday at Newton.
