'SHOCKED' BLAKE GRIFFIN LEARNED OF TRADE VIA TWITTER

‘Shocked’ Blake Griffin Learned Of Trade Via Twitter

I’m sure you can remember where you were Monday when you heard the news that Blake Griffin had been traded to Detroit Pistons.

And now we know where Griffin himself was as well… online.

Not surprisingly, Griffin admitted yesterday during his introductory news conference at the Palace of Auburn Hills that he was “shocked” to hear he had been traded. What is surprising is that he found out on Twitter.“The NBA is a business, and they made a decision,” Griffin said. “The only thing I just wish I had known or had the opportunity to talk to somebody beforehand. Finding out through Twitter, through other people is a tough way to find out when you’ve been with a franchise for so long. But at the end of the day, basketball is a business, and I want to play where a team wants me. And that’s why I’m excited about being here.”Griffin is expected to make his debut tonight when the Memphis Grizzlies visit Detroit—a Pistons’ team he seems very excited about. The only question is how he will adapt after all of those winters in the City of Angels compared to the Detroit’s climate.“I have a winter coat,” Griffin said with a laugh. “We travel all the time. I’m from Oklahoma, so we have actual seasons and winters, so this is more like home than L.A., so I’m prepared.”It might help that his arrival in Detroit couldn’t be any colder than the way he was sent out of L.A.
