The Oskaloosa Urban Park will host their first ever skateboard competition on Saturday August 1st. MCRF has been working closely with the youth skaters and parent committee to plan for a recreational competition which will consist of three age groups: 12 and under, 13 to 17, and 18 & up categories. Wall certificates and prizes will be given to first, second and third place in each category. Vendors on site will include Patriot Catering and Sno Biz. Drinks have been provided by Mahaska and HyVee.  Eduskate skate team from Cedar rapids will send 6 team members  to judge the competition. The competition starts at 11AM with registration beginning at 9 AM. It is free to participate and helmets are required.

This will be the first competition at Oskaloosa Urban Park downtown thanks to sponsors MCRF, Penn Central Mall, HyVee, Eduskate, Mahaska, and InVivo.  BMX and scooter could be future competitions. Come out and join the fun, buy your lunch or a snow cone, get a free drink, even win a skateboard deck from InVivo or gift certificates and other gifts!  If you can pop, flip, grind, or just like the sport come Sk8 with us on Saturday!
